Sheriff's Office: Two Murder Suspects Arrested

In separate incidents, Jimmy Earl Welch was arrested in unincorporated Stone Mountain on Sunday, and Angelo Dennard was arrested last week.

A murder suspect in a July 4 incident was arrested in unincorporated Stone Mountain on Sunday, and another suspect in a separate case that happened on Redan Road in June was also recently apprehended, the DeKalb county sheriff's office says.

The sheriff's Fugitive Squad arrested Jimmy Earl Welch on Sunday at 1054 Forest East Lane.  According to the sheriff's office release, "Welch is accused of shooting Courtney Walker five times and killing him during an altercation on July 4."

The suspect, whose bond has not yet been set, is in the DeKalb county jail. 

Last Wednesday, DeKalb Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad and the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force arrested Angelo Dennard, 32, on Metropolitan Avenue and Ralph David Abernathy Blvd., the release said. 

Police were searching for Dennard, who they say is wanted for allegedly shooting and killing Dianna Cruz-Sagrero June 13 in front of his mother and two young children outside an apartment on Redan Road in unincorporated Decatur.

Dennard is in the DeKalb Jail with a $200,000 bond, the sheriff's office said.
