Armed Robber Targets Teens at Gas Station

Two teenagers, a suspect, an accomplice, and a slight twist.

Two teenagers walking through a N. Hairston Road gas station on Tuesday, Sept. 10 were flagged down by "a subject known to sell drugs at the location," according to DeKalb Police.

The man asked them if they were "OK for gas" and they said they were, whereupon an accomplice "approached them holding a small semi-automatic pistol," the report stated. A cell phone and $20 were taken from the victims, and the accomplice ran into the nearby Mountain Crest apartment complex.

The man who first approached the teens told police "the two subjects were probably robbed because they were trying to sell drugs on the corner. He said that the subjects came up to him after they were robbed and asked for his help," Officer S.F. Overbaugh wrote in the incident report.
