City of Stone Mountain Candidates: Steve Higgins
Higgins is running again for Post 5 on Stone Mountain's City Council.
Municipal elections take place in Stone Mountain on Tuesday, Nov. 5 for mayoral and city council posts.
Steve Higgins is running for Post 5 on Stone Mountain's City Council, a position he has held for eight years. "I feel good about (the election), but I'm not taking it for granted," he told Patch last week.
So what are the challenges he faces? Higgins lamented the lack of public participation in city affairs and the "limited attendance" at council meetings. "I'd like to see the community be more involved," he said.
Higgings seeks reelection in order to complete streetscape and urban redevelopment projects, and to entice more businesses to the city.
