Stone Mountain Spokesman: Three People Rescued on Tuesday

Two teenage boys were among those rescued by EMS personnel.

Tuesday, July 23, 2:52 pm- Two teenage boys who were in a restricted area atop Stone Mountain Tuesday have been rescued, and crews brought down a third person who was in the area but not injured.

Stone Mountain Park Public Safety public information officer John Bankhead said a father took his son and two neighborhood boys to the mountain. The older boys went into the restricted area and fell. The man's son, 12, was not hurt.

The first person rescued was air-lifted to Atlanta Medical Center with a head injury, but was talking, Bankhead said. The second person was taken to Gwinnett Medical by ambulance.
