ReplyI think one of the issues to fighting this issue is that it is hard for police to pinpoint where the gunfire is coming from. This is where the technology will help. Or, should help.

In Atlanta, I believe Julian Bond's office was approached about the Shotspotter Gunshot detection software. Do you think that will help Atlanta? What else can we do?

What do you feel about Gunshot detection technology such as the Shotspotter. I sat in on a meeting a little over a year ago with the public safety director William Miller of Dekalb County and his department on possibly getting that technology. Do you think something like that will be a help? It has been proven to track gunshots to where they origionate from.

I agree with you Fred. There is no excuse for Celebratory Gunfire. And, I dont think that Gun Control will make a difference. People just need to be respectful and safe. It just need to stop.

ReplyThank Mi, for your comment. Atlanta has a huge issue with Celebratory Gunfire also. Somehow, I think we need PSA's in place or some form of education that will show people the dangers of this activity. I remember a woman sitting in her apartment Shot and wounded last year. Just imagine that you can be injured or killed at any time due to this. I honestly believe that this can be avoided. What do you think the City of Atlanta should do?

ReplyThank you James for your comment. Sorry to hear about your property damage. But, I am so happy that you and your family was not hurt. Just think about the countless other roofs out there that are damaged because of Celebratory Gunfire. Some people may never know that they have had a close encounter until they inspect their roofs. Your comment is proof that not only people are being injured or killed, but property damage is a factor in this issue. Thanks so much for your comment.

ReplyThank You Ty for your comment. It is very sad that people still choose to participate in Celebratory Gunfire not taking into consideration of the potential human injury or loss of life. I also think that somehow people are not educated enough on the dangers of this activity and the statistics.

ReplyAngel, I would suggest that you join their faceboook group and submit. Their needs change all the time because they are constantly shooting different episodes of DDD and other productions. Their facebook link is https://www.facebook.com/CatrettLockeCasting?ref=ts&fref=ts. I hope this helps. :)
