New Restaurant Setting Up in the Village Ajs Bistro plans to move into the former Mama Mia's, the former Crab Pot and the former Fat Headz Diner in Stone Mountain Village. The sign on the window says the restaurant will have a southern and international "twist of great food." The Crab Pot closed in the beginning of 2012. Fat Headz opened up in March 2012, but closed about four months later. Check back with Patch for more information on the new restaurant. The television show 'Vampire Diaries' is set to film in the city of Stone Mountain on Valentine's Day (Thursday, Feb.14) and extras -- specifically, "new faces" covering a wide-ranging age group -- are needed. The Stone Mountain city council recently approved a filming location agreement with Bonanza Productions, which makes the show. Among the items voted on during the Stone Mountain City Counci's meeting Tuesday, Feb. 5 was a filming location agreement between the city and Bonanza Productions. The item under new business, amnesty for individuals - outstanding warrants for traffic violations - was tabled until March. Council member Cyril Mungal was not present. Yes I've noticed that as an area resident for the past 8 years. I've been to all except German Bakery, bought an item or 2 at the clothing shop and gift store on Mountain St. The galleries are nice but I'm not an art buyer.
