Leslie Johnson is still here though!
Patch is doing a bit of shuffling around and I've been asked to take over the reins of Stone Mountain-Lithonia Patch, starting today. I've been running Tucker Patch since late 2010 and will continue doing that as well. Leslie Johnson is still very much here, in her new role as Field Editor. That means she'll be reporting on a variety of subjects for several Patches in the region, including this one. So I'm asking you, our readers, to send any news tips you may have to me and any suggestions for what you would like to see covered on the site. Remember, Patch is very interactive, and we want you to be a big part of it. We welcome your comments on our news stories and we are always looking for new bloggers. You can post your blogs right here…

A Taqueria Los Hermanos location in the city of Stone Mountain? City councilwoman Nan Nash and others who have signed her petition hope so.
Stone Mountain city councilwoman Nan Nash says she and others in the city so enjoy the food at Taqueria Los Hermanos restaurant in Tucker that she's started a petition for folks to sign who are interested in bringing the eatery to the area. Nash said she thinks a Taqueria Los Hermanos location in the city of Stone Mountain would be a good addition. "We'd love to have them here," said Nash. The petition is not a city effort, she added. Nash always runs into people she knows from Stone Mountain at Taqueria Los Hermanos. Besides, she said, there hasn't been a Mexican restaurant in the city in quite a long time. So, where would a Taqueria Los Hermanos restaurant go in the city? Nash pointed out a number of possibilities, including available …

The owner of MaeLynn's Boutique is venturing next door to help make business dreams come true for creative people.
Hattie Lewis, owner of MaeLynn's Boutique at 5348 E. Mountain Street in Stone Mountain Village, is busy with a new project right next door: getting her divinely-inspired "Hattie's Dream Museum" set up in the space where another shop, Sassy's, used to be. Through a month-to-month written agreement, people who want to sell their creative items in the space will pay a monthly fee to have them displayed at Hattie's. "All you do is bring it. I give you an environment," Lewis said. The person will do all their own advertising. She's already painted the space (white walls, emerald green floor - a departure from the predominant purple and pink at MaeLynn's) and is putting up decorative touches as well as creations from some artists on the …
