Here's a roundup of recent business news from Stone Mountain and Lithonia: Kalonji Bakery Closing Bruno Kalonji of Kalonji's Cafe and Bakery, tells Patch the eatery at 933 Main St. in Stone Mountain Village will be closing at the end of December. "We'll see in the future" about opening another restaurant again someday, Kalonji said. Business was "all right" at the restaurant, he said. The Main Street Stone Mountain (MSSM) organization mentioned at the Dec. 17 Stone Mountain city council work session that New Orleans Sno Ball Cafe has looked at the space. Kalonji's Bakery has good sandwiches and cookies but the odor in the store from old leaking pipes makes you want to keep your visit short. I have bought things there to take home but could not eat in the store because of the smell. Any food business that is interested in going into that space should be sure the pipes are fixed first. If not, it will likely go out of business too.I   more ›

Updated: Grand Opening of Expanded 'Forever 21' at Stonecrest Expected in Early January

Editor's Note: This story has been updated and corrected with new information. Forever 21 is expanding its presence at the Mall at Stonecrest and accepting job applications. Interested applicants should go to forever21.com/careers. The clothing retailer already has a location at the mall, about 9,000 square feet, but is moving into space formerly occupied by Border's. The new store will be more than 20,000 square feet, said Don Bieler, the mall's director of marketing. The anticipated grand opening of the newly expanded store is early January, Bieler said.
