The nominations are in, and now it's time to choose the best burger in Stone Mountain. Cast your vote by August 17 and help us decide who's best. Whichever business gets the most votes will be named the Readers' Choice winner. The poll will open to accept votes from registered Patch users starting on July 23 and close at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 17. Winners in all Readers Choice categories will be announced on Aug. 24.

We asked, and you voted for your favorite local spot for ice cream or frozen yogurt.
Stone Mountain-Redan Patch readers picked Brusters at 2688 Rockbridge Rd. as their favorite place to grab a frozen treat, such as ice cream or frozen yogurt. That Brusters location got 60 percent of the vote, while Dairy Queen and Brusters on Redan Road each got 20 percent. Patch left a message for the folks at the Rockbridge Brusters about being a winner. We hope the fact that we got voice mail means they're busy churning out those delicious treats! Stone Mountain-Redan Patch received two votes for the best local spot for a Mother's Day brunch, creating a tie between Piccadilly and the Village Corner Bakery, Tavern and German Restaurant. So, there was no winner this time. Stay tuned Monday, May 7 for our Readers' Choice poll asking for the best place for a "staycation." Every week Patch picks a local restaurant worth checking out, and this week we go Mexican.
WARNING: This review is not raving. I'd like to write a positive review about Little Mexico Bar & Grill because I'd heard good things about the food and because the eatery won a Readers' Choice poll in Snellville for the best outside dining, but this isn't going to be a stellar review. It's my experience. And, I didn't think it was a great one. First off, it was gloomy weather, so I did not get the advantage of the outside dining. That's not their fault. But, what is their fault is the lack of windows in the place and equally dim lighting. I couldn't see anything at first. My eyes had to adjust.
