Five Things to Know This Week, Nov.11-17

Here are five things to keep in mind as you get your week started.

1. Veterans Day closings/observances. All DeKalb County library branches will be closed Sunday, Nov. 11 and Monday, Nov. 12. Trash normally collected by DeKalb County Sanitation on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, Nov. 13. 2. Manga Book Club. For ages 10-17, kids can meet up at Stonecrest Library to talk about manga on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 5-6 p.m. The library is located at 3123 Klondike Road Lithonia 3. Georgia High School Graduation Test for Stephenson High School students is Nov.12-16. 4. Meet the Smurfs Live! Those lovable blue creatures come to Mall at Stonecrest, 2929 Turner Hill Rd., Lithonia, on Saturday, Nov. 17 at noon. 5. Five Things to Know This Week, Nov. 4-10

Keep this information in mind as you get your week started.

1. Have you set your clock back yet? Daylight Saving Time has ended, and now we "fall back" one hour. 2. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6. Take a look at our election guide for presidential and local race information, and stay tuned with Patch all day for complete election coverage. 3. There's no school on Nov. 6 for DeKalb County School District students. To keep them busy locally that day, consider Game Day for teens (ages 13-17) at Lithonia-Davidson Library, 6821 Church St. in Lithonia, from 2-4 p.m.; or Learn About Owls for ages 5-12 at Hairston Crossing Library, 4911 Redan Road in Stone Mountain. 4.
