Bites Nearby: Kathmandu Kitchen & Grill
Our weekly look at a restaurant close by that's worth checking out.
There aren't too many Indian restaurants around here, unfortunately, and even fewer Nepalese ones. Kathmandu Kitchen & Grill serves both kinds of food, so I was anxious to try it. The first time I had for lunch there, I went for the Indian buffet. At only $7.99, it's quite a bargain and has everything you would expect; Tandoori chicken, curries, vegetables, goat meat, dahl, naan, Chicken Tikka, pakoras and other sundry goodies. All very promising. The buffet is available every single day from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. It gets really interesting, though, when you try the Nepali menu, which is what some friends and I did at lunchtime today. It just so happens that April 13 is the Nepali New Year - 2069 - so the staff were in celebratory mood. …
