Five Things to Know This Week, Nov.11-17

Here are five things to keep in mind as you get your week started.

1. Veterans Day closings/observances. All DeKalb County library branches will be closed Sunday, Nov. 11 and Monday, Nov. 12. Trash normally collected by DeKalb County Sanitation on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, Nov. 13. 2. Manga Book Club. For ages 10-17, kids can meet up at Stonecrest Library to talk about manga on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 5-6 p.m. The library is located at 3123 Klondike Road Lithonia 3. Georgia High School Graduation Test for Stephenson High School students is Nov.12-16. 4. Meet the Smurfs Live! Those lovable blue creatures come to Mall at Stonecrest, 2929 Turner Hill Rd., Lithonia, on Saturday, Nov. 17 at noon. 5. Five Things to Know Today, November 10

Financial aid night at Redan High School, Walmart talk, and more.

1. Today on Patch: 2. Show Them the Money: It's Financial Aid Night at 6 p.m. tonight at Redan High School for juniors and seniors. 3. More Walmart talk: Tonight Walmart reps will discuss the company's interest in building a store on Memorial Drive near N. Hairston Road at a Pride Rings In Stone Mountain meeting (PRISM), 7:30 p.m., St. Timothy United Methodist Church. 4. Plan ahead for Veteran's Day closings: Veteran's Day is tomorrow; banks and libraries will be closed, and there will be no trash pickup in DeKalb County. 5. The weather: Hold onto your hat; it's supposed to be windy today. High of 57, low of 32 tonight.
