U.S. Postal Service to Drop Saturday Mail in August

Fox News reports the move will save about $2 billion and will not affect package delivery.

The U.S. Postal Service will announce the end of Saturday mail delivery this morning, according to Fox News. "I'm in favor of it," said Dr. Hagan Baskin, 81, a retired vascula surgeon living in the Park Springs retirement community in Stone Mountain. "I think we could go to Monday, Wednesday, Friday post office delivery and save more money." Said Michael Miles, spokesperson for the Atlanta District of the USPS: "What's being reported is one of those things that we are looking at as another possible cost-cutting measure,"  "So for now it's part of a study that we are looking at over the next five years to reduce our costs." It seems as if I am on all catalog mailings lists. If i don't receive the ones due for delivery on Saturday, I can wait until Monday. We'll get accustomed sooner than you think and by Halloween will have forgotten that we miss Saturday mail. Come on, get upset about serious concerns.   more ›
