OK, so the Falcons didn't make it. It's still one of the most-watched sporting events on the planet, and here's where you can catch it in Stone Mountain and Lithonia.
I'm about to enter my own personal sports black hole. It happens every year at this time, the period between the end of football season and the start of baseball season, when there's absolutely nothing on the sports pages that interests me. Three (!) professional hockey teams have been ripped away from our city in my lifetime. I've never been a basketball fan. Even if I was, the Atlanta Hawks' owners are the same ones that sold off the Thrashers with not even a goodbye wave, so I'm boycotting them anyway. So before I enter two long months of sports-page hibernation, I'm going to enjoy Super Bowl XLVII with our annual gathering of friends on Sunday. I'll be making my usual two batches of Super Bowl chili (one with and one without, beans) …

The park had two team "fanatics" take their dispute down the tubing hill of the Snow Mountain attraction.
Stone Mountain Park had a bit of fun taking Super Bowl fever to Facebook and Youtube - and down its Snow Mountain attraction. Two team "fanatics" took their rivalry down the snowy hill. Captured on video (attached to this article) and posted on Youtube, the Baltimore Ravens fan came down first. Before Stone Mountain Park took it to the hilltop, it posted this on its Facebook page: Baltimore or San Francisco? We lined up 2 fanatics to settle it on the Snow Mountain tubing hill! Our prediction for The Big Game is coming soon! The two "fanatics" in the photo (attached) were a man in a tan and red court jester-style hat with the words "San Francisco" taped to his red shirt, and a Ravens fan clad in purple, Mardi Gras beads and with gold tinsel…
