The popular destination will begin unveiling some of its new features March 28.
Last year, Stone Mountain Park unveiled Geyser Towers, a big, splashy, attraction aimed at kids (and kids at heart). This year, the park is introducing the following new features: > The educational "Butterfly Adventures" launches June 1 as part of the park's "Summer at the Rock" experience. Guests will get to enter a special habitat with more than 1,000 fluttering butterflies, where they'll learn more about these insects and can even feed them. > The park will have two weeks of its "Spring FUN Break" activities, March 30- April 13, which include the Wildlife Wonders’ Animal Babies show and Easter Bunny events. > In its 4-D theater, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island opens March 28. > A new dining option called Campfire Grill described as a…

The Blue Grassroots Music & Arts Festival in the city of Stone Mountain is expanding. The showcase of bluegrass music and artists' creativity will be two days -- March 23 and 24 -- instead of one, as it's been for three years. Also, rather than concentrating the activities in the center of Stone Mountain Village, the festival will extend all the way down to James B. Rivers Drive near the Village Corner German Restaurant. "We're trying to involve both ends of Main Street," said Susan Ryles, executive director of Main Street Stone Mountain. With the festival now covering two days, "we feel like we can build this into a festival with a really good attendance,' Ryles said.
