Crews Stop Gas Leak in Stone Mountain-Gwinnett

The leak happened in the 4100 block of U.S. 78, westbound.

An Atlanta Gas Light emergency crew stopped a gas leak Monday in Stone Mountain in Gwinnett County. The leak happened in the 4100 block of U.S. 78, westbound. A construction crew hit a gas meter during the demolition of and old Food Mart gas station, said Capt. Tommy Rutledge, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services public information officer, in a release about the incident. Firefighters dispatched to the scene established a "hot zone perimeter" and evacuated about 13 people from a nearby mobile home park and its management office.  There were no injuries, Rutledge said. As a precaution, firefighters closed the westbound lanes of Highway 78 between Parker Court and Park Way, SW and diverted traffic around the leak.  Crews got a little…
