Here are a few retailer discounts and upcoming dates to keep in mind as the start of the 2012-2013 school year draws closer: Georgia's 2012 Sales Tax Holiday runs from Friday, August 10 through Saturday, August 11. Never mind private school - public school can take a real bite out of parents' wallets. According to the article "5 Hidden Costs of Public High School," in U.S. News & World Report, public high school is not as inexpensive as it once was. Thanks to issues such as government budget cuts, parents are increasingly dishing out money for certain supplies, extracurricular activities and more, the article said.
