Help Needed: Georgia State Parks

Panola Mountain State Park is the closest that welcomes volunteers.

Volunteering at a Georgia State Park, historic site or golf course means helping to keep great resources in good shape on a daily basis and for special events. A state park not too far from South DeKalb is Panola Mountain State Park, which has a sign-up sheet for volunteers at its visitors center. Park phone number: (770) 389-7801. For those who don’t mind more of a drive, other volunteer opportunities include: Saturday, August 20 - Clean up of Smith Creek at Unicoi State Park, recognizing Georgia’s Rivers Alive program.
