Tonight: Fred Hammond - United Tenors Performing at Mall at Stonecrest

The gospel group is scheduled to perform at DTLR in the mall at 7 p.m.

  There is a United Tenors live performance tonight (March 26), 7 p.m. at the DTLR store featuring members Fred Hammond, Dave Hollister, Brian Courtney Wilson, and Eric Roberson, according to Mall at Stonecrest's Facebook page. People who have a proof of purchase of the "Fred Hammond - United Tenors" CD can meet the artists after the show on a first-come, first-served basis, the mall states on its website.

That's "RAGS" -- which stands for Resale Accessories Garments & Shoes. The store is a subsidiary of the not-for-profit Prevention Partners Inc., whose president and CEO, Rose Robins Troupe, has "a passion for prevention," she recently told Patch. Troupe owns the store along with Shirley Caldwell, director of project development Proceeds from RAGS will help with with Prevention Partners' many efforts, including health screenings, awareness about childhood obesity, diabetes, Alzheimer's, and programs such as lunch for the homeless. Report Describes Mall At Stonecrest's Debt Issues

An Ajc.com articles says a loan backed by part of the mall is in the hands of a "special servicer," a move that could lead to foreclosure. Mall operations will continue, the report says.

Citing a Fitch Ratings report, an Ajc.com article states that a company "that helps work out troubled debt" is handling a loan backed by part of the Mall at Stonecrest in Lithonia. It's a move that could lead to foreclosure, states the article, which also says the loan sent to the "special servicer" had a balance of $98.7 million. The article said mall operations will continue. A First: Mall At Stonecrest to Open at Midnight on Black Friday

The mall is requesting 100 percent participation from most of its smaller shops to also open at 12 a.m. on the big shopping day.

The Mall at Stonecrest in Lithonia for the first time will open at 12 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23 - the big holiday shopping day-after-Thanksgiving known as "Black Friday." The mall opened on Black Friday 2011 at 5 a.m., five hours later than anchor department stores Kohl's and Macy's. It didn't take the mall's director of marketing, Donald Bieler, long to see that it may have missed an opportunity. "Everybody rushed out at midnight, went home, slept, and refreshed," he said. The mall is requesting 100 percent participation from smaller shops to open at midnight, except from service-based businesses such as LensCrafters, Bieler said. Update: DeKalb Commissioners Approve T.G.I. Friday's Late Night Hours

The casual dining restaurant is taking over the former Flambeaux location near Mall at Stonecrest.

At its November meeting, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners approved T.G.I. Friday's request late night hours, with outdoor security, Madolyn Spann, planning manager with the county's Department of Planning and Sustainability told Patch. Original story: T.G.I.
