UPDATE: Child Killed, another missing in Lanier Boating Collision

UPDATE: Authorities report arrest made in boating accident. Driver charged with boating under the influence and hit and run.

UPDATE: A spokesman with the Department of Natural Resources told the Gwinnett Daily Post that a boater has been taken into custody and charged with boating under the influence and hit and run. The Atlanta Journal is reporting his name is Paul Bennett and that he is from Cumming. The search continues for the 13-year-old. The AJC is also reporting that the 9-year-old and 13-year-old were brothers. The 13 people on the pontoon, including the fatality and the missing teen, were allegedly from Gwinnett County, but no names have yet been released. One child was killed an another was missing after a boating accident late Monday on Lake Lanier, according to Cumming Patch. I hope that jerk driving his boat too fast and at night gets life in prison. He not only ruined that family on the pontoon but also his family. All for acting like a drunk alcoholic idiot.   more ›
