Residents: Plan Ahead for Georgia Marathon Street Closings on Sunday
Thousands of runners, volunteers and spectators will take over the streets of Virginia-Highland and Druid Hills for the Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon.
Stone Mountain and Lithonia residents, take note. If you're leaving the area for other parts of metro Atlanta today (Sunday, March 17) you may need to plan ahead to move your car or reschedule some morning activities due to the flow of runners passing through Virginia-Highland and Druid Hills for the Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon. Most of the runners passing through Virginia-Highland and Druid Hills will be taking part in the half marathon, which will have the biggest impact on Ponce de Leon, Highland Avenue, Virginia Avenue and Park Drive.
