Gwinnett County Police have released details surrounding the hit-and-runs that took place on Jan. 23 shortly before midnight. The accidents stretched from Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain to Walton Court in Snellville, with the final accident resulting in the death of Loganville's Mintiwal Woldeyhans, 69. Her daughter, 51-year-old Yeshihareg Abebe, is in the hospital with serious injuries. The driver, Michael O. Snider, 70, is currently in Gwinnett County jail on charges of DUI, following too closely, reckless driving, vehicular homicide and serious injury by vehicle. Cobb police have identified the driver of the Cadillac: Derrick Pritchett, 17, of Stone Mountain. Pritchett was pronounced dead Saturday at WellStar Kennestone Hospital after crashing the car while trying to elude police. The passenger who died at the scene of the wreck is not being identified because he was only 16 years old. A speeding Cadillac that eluded Cobb police early Saturday morning crashed, overturned and caught fire on an Interstate 75 entrance ramp, leaving two people dead and another passenger hospitalized.
