Chief Chancey Troutman says officer Denoris Carter is on unpaid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
DeKalb's interim police chief Lisa Gassner released a statement today about the county police officers -- one of them, Dorian Williams, is of the Stone Mountain area -- arrested Tuesday in a sweeping corruption case that covered multiple agencies in metro Atlanta. According to the U.S. Attorney's office, the officers are alleged to have taken thousands of dollars in payouts. They have been charged with crimes including assisting with drug trafficking, receiving illegal payouts and using firearms during the commission of a crime. The city of Stone Mountain's police chief gave his regular report at the city council work session this week.
The City of Stone Mountain's chief of police gave his report at the city council work session Monday night. Chief Chancey Troutman said in June, there were: Three burglaries in June: "Burglaries went down a little bit last month, which was excellent," Troutman said. Thefts: Troutman said there were 24 alarm calls; 16 domestic calls; and a drug arrest (less than an ounce of marijuana). City of Stone Mountain police chief spoke briefly about pilfered plants during his report to the city council this week.
Stone Mountain city's police chief Chancey Troutman alerted people to thieves' latest shenanigans, sometimes against the elderly, during his report to the city council on Tuesday at its work session. "They've been stealing plants," Troutman said. The pilfered plants are then sold for a few dollars, he said. So, folks should guard their gardens. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the DeKalb History Center.
The DeKalb County Police Department will hold a memorial service for fallen police officers at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the DeKalb History Center at 101 East Court Square, Decatur. The fallen officers monument is between the gazebo and the back entrance to the history center, also known as the old courthouse. Stone Mountain city police chief Chancey Troutman said he would be in attendance. The public is invited.

City of Stone Mountain police chief gives monthly police activity report at Tuesday work session.
Two citations were issued last month for "pants hanging," Stone Mountain city police chief Chancey Troutman reported to the city council during its work session Tuesday night. There were three drug arrests (less than an ounce of marijuana) and two DUIs last month. In one case, a woman got stuck on the railroad tracks, gunned her gas and went over a ditch, Troutman said. An officer who came on the scene smelled alcohol on her and made an arrest. There were 39 total calls for domestic violence incidents in March, he said.
