Patch asked Leisure about the organization's projects and needs.
Susan Leisure, executive director of Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends in Stone Mountain city, answered five questions from Patch about the organization - including what's on its holiday wish list and its ongoing needs: Does AARF have a special 'holiday wish' this year -- a need you'd like taken care of before the start of 2013? Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends has received donations toward getting the new air conditioner, which replaces an older unit that quit earlier this month. The group needs additional funding help as duct work needs to be completed.
Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends posted this update on Thursday, Aug. 16 on the organization's Facebook page about its air conditioning situation, which began earlier this month when the facility's 35 year-old unit quit: The new air conditioner is being installed today! Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. So far, we have raised 55% of our initial goal. A weekly list of local volunteer opportunities.

The groups listed are in Stone Mountain or in areas nearby: Volunteer coordinator Stephanie Burton said volunteers don’t have to be available everyday; even just one day of help would work. Set up involves going by AARF Pet Central to pick up the tent, table and supplies, actual set up at the market and bringing the items back to AARF. Volunteers are needed July 27-August 31. If you can help, contact Susan with AARF: firstname.lastname@example.org See other …
