Georgia Coalition for Physical Activity Is Finalist in Car Competition

GPAN would use new Toyota vehicle to teach nutrition to low-income youth and families across Georgia.

Georgia Coalition for Physical Activity and Nutrition announced today that it has been selected as one of 500 nonprofit finalists in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program.  On June 7, 2012, the public can vote online for GPAN’s Cooking Matters, an organization dedicated to empowering families at risk of hunger with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make healthy and affordable meals. The organization has a one-in-five chance on June 7 to win a much-needed Toyota vehicle to support their nutrition education outreach. “We are responsible for over 53,000 square miles across metro Atlanta and the state of Georgia, to provide educational cooking classes for low-income families, kids and students," said Karen Kierath, operations director for …
