Dekalb Enterprises focuses on helping the intellectually disabled, and it has three program components: pre-vocational training, community access training and supported employment services. Pre-vocational training includes help with resumes and job interview preparation and applications.
The service's community access training aims to help the mentally disabled be able to live independently and as part of the community. It includes training in everything from preparing a meal and doing laundry to safely maneuvering streets as a pedestrian and using public transportation.
The supported employment services partners with employers to provide job opportunities in a structured employment setting.
