Community Corner

Weekender: Art Strolling, Singers Competing, Women Drumming

It's a good weekend for art and music lovers.

Stone Mountain Village and the Tucker Arts Guild are collaborating on an artists' show that starts on Friday, May 31 and continues until Sunday, June 2 at the Weatherly Building, 965-A Main Street on the corner with East Mountain Street in Stone Mountain.

Stone Mountain's annual Art Stroll takes place on Saturday, June 1 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. through the Art Station Galleries (at the main Art Station location at 5384 Manor Drive) and the four Arts Incubator Galleries on Main Street and Mountain Street. The event is free, but obtaining a 'passport' is recommended.

The ConunDrums Women’s Drumming Group, playing West African rhythms, will perform at the gazebo downtown during the Art Stroll. The group is "a community of diverse women drawn together through a combination of fate, chance, intention, and the call of the drum."
