'Sick of Signs' Sweep Saturday

Homeowner organizations, civic, and community groups are partnering with DeKalb County to remove signs along roadways.

DeKalb County is launching the Sick of Signs campaign, an effort against the proliferation of illegal signs that blight communities. A Sick of Signs sweep will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning at Wal-Mart, 5935 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain.

“Illegal signs are a blight in the community and an eyesore. When we remove these signs, we are improving our curb appeal and increase the value of our community,” said Interim CEO Lee May. “Besides, many of these signs are too close to the road and they are dangerous.”
