Week Ahead: Pumpkin Fest, Jobs Bus, Highland Games

Some of what's going on in the next few days.

Stone Mountain Park’s annual Pumpkin Festival is in full swing. "New for 2013, experience Spookley’s A-MAZE-ING Adventure maze! Puzzles, passages, twists and turns will keep kids guessing until they reach the exit." 

DeKalb's Mobile Career Center - the Jobs Bus - comes to Stone Mountain on Wednesday, Oct. 16; 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the DeKalb Access and Resource Center, 949 North Hairston Road. 

The next day, Oct. 17, the Jobs Bus will be at the Salem-Panola Library, 5137 Salem Road in Lithonia.

On Friday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) will hold a free information event on the Affordable Care Act at Georgia Piedmont Technical College on North Indian Creek Drive in Clarkson.

In high school football, Avondale Stadium will host Stone Mountain (3-3, 1-1) against Chamblee (4-2, 1-1) Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Customer Appreciation Day is being offered by Atlanta Light Bulbs on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m.
