Donation opportunity:

Bucks for School Supplies: The Back-to-School Bash in the City of Stone Mountain on July 28 could use monetary donations to purchase school supplies, including bookbags. Last year, the bash helped nearly 1,000 children through $4,450 in donations (all but $9 was spent on supplies, said city manager Barry Amos). This year, the need is expected to be even greater, he said: between 1,200 and 1,500 kids will need the supplies. Monetary donations are preferred so a sufficient amount of supplies can be purchased.
