Help Needed: Clubhouse Buddies, Compost Demos

A weekly look at local volunteer and giving opportunities.

The following are local organizations' needs for volunteers or donations.

The opportunities are in Stone Mountain and metro Atlanta areas nearby, such as Lithonia, Clarkston and Lilburn.

Volunteering, side by side: in the city of Stone Mountain as quite a number of volunteer opportunities, including clubhouse buddies, event planner/assistant, cook, gardening, exercise facilitator and much more. Learn more about Side by Side volunteer opportunities and to submit an application.

Have a heart for ART? There are quite a few options available at different times of day if you'd like to volunteer at : ushering at theatre productions, working the bar, hosting, and even bringing your corporate know-how to the table by becoming a board member.

Science Helpers: Fernbank Science Center has been in the news a lot lately as the . The board said , but it could still use some help.
