Help Needed: Local Volunteer Opportunities

Build a playground in a day: Saturday, April 28 is the deadline to sign up as a volunteer at the on May 5, starting at 8:30 a.m., in the Mainstreet Community in unincorporated Stone Mountain. Volunteers will.

Family Literacy Tutor Needed: needs family literacy tutors in Stone Mountain and Clarkston. These volunteers work with a refugee parent tutoring English and are also a "crucial link to American culture," according to the web site. RFS will provide orientation, training and resources. DeKalb Medical Center Volunteers: The hospital, which has a location near Stone Mountain in Lithonia (Hillandale) could use adults and college students to assist with social gatherings, recognition events, fundraising and more, according to the web site.
