Help Needed: Greet Visitors, Lead Hikes

There are opportunities to volunteer in the comfort of a venue or out in nature.

Whether you'd like to spend time in the great outdoors leading a hike, or would prefer indoor tasks such as greeting patrons at a performing arts facility, the following organizations near Stone Mountain and throughout metro Atlanta would welcome your assistance in helping their spaces run smoothly:

  • Volunteers are needed for the Movies on Main event in downtown Stone Mountain Saturday. Email kcumbie@comcast.net if you can help.
  • Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve in Lithonia could use volunteers in areas such as trail maintenance, hikes and tours, bike patrol, and walking patrol. Call 770-484-3060 to learn more.
  • Become an ambassador/ volunteer for The Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center. Volunteers greet visitors, help with special events, and more.  Click here to begin the registration process.
  • Volunteering for the City of Decatur means offering help for everything from one-time projects, special events, or long-term commitments – whatever you can do. Positions are available for a variety of schedules and interests. Click here to learn more.
  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden needs everyone from lobby greeters to gift shop volunteers. An interview is required to volunteer. For more information, contact the Volunteer Manager at 404-591-1548 or complete the online registration form here.
