Weekend Planner: Summer's Last "Movies on Main"

This is the last weekend before school starts for DeKalb County school kids, including those throughout Stone Mountain. That means you've got one last chance to bring your blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy "Movies on Main" in Stone Mountain Village. See what else is happening this weekend:

Movies on Main, "Mr. Popper's Penguins"

When: Saturday, Aug.11, 8-10:30 p.m. (sundown)

Where: Baptist Church lawn, Stone Mountain Village (middle of town)

Why go: This is the last "Movies on Main" event for the summer and a free good time with the family. Scheduled movie: "Mr. Popper's Penguins."

Why go: Kids free - Kids ages 3-11 receive one free All-Attractions Adventure Pass ($22 value) with the purchase of a full price Adult Adventure Pass. Coupon valid for up to 6 people. You must visit the site here to print the coupon, which you'll bring to the main ticket plaza.

Bring a friend free: Mountain Members and Mountain Members PLUS passholders get to bring a guest and receive one free All-Attractions Adventure Pass at no additional cost. You'll have to print the coupon here and bring it to the main ticket plaza with your Mountain Membership ID.

All attractions open Friday, Aug. 9: Stone Mountain Park will open all attractions 10:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. today.

"I Ought To Be In Pictures"

When: August 2-19, 8 p.m. There are 3 p.m. shows on Sundays, and a 10:30 a.m. show on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Why go: Support ART Station by seeing a  Neil Simon play. Note: Cost for adults is $25; seniors and students, $21.

Family Bike Ride
