1.What: Summer of Star Wars Party

Why go: Not since Dragon*Con or Halloween has there been the perfect opportunity to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character. There will even be a costume contest at this event, so make your costume shine! You can get your picture taken with a Stormtrooper and make an origami Yoda, too. This event is for families.
2. What: Movies on Main
When: Saturday, June 30, 8-10:30 p.m. (sundown)
Where: Baptist Church lawn, Stone Mountain Village (middle of town)
Why go: A free good time with the family. Scheduled movie: "We Bought a Zoo."
3. What: Geocaching for Families
When: Saturday, June 30, 1-3 p.m.
Where: Stonecrest Library, 3123 Klondike Rd., Lithonia, 30038.
Why go: Find out about this game that involves a GPS to find interesting stuff. Open to first 12 families.
4. What: Basic Archery
When: Saturday, June 30, 3-5 p.m.
Where: Panola Mountain State Park, 2600 Highway 155 SW, Stockbridge, 30281
Why go: See what it's like to shoot an arrow from a bow like that guy Legolas in "Lord of the Rings." You'll meet at Archery Range at the park, and all equipment will be provided. Not bad for $10 (addtional $5 for parking). Have your own equipment? Then the cost includes an all-day archery range pass, according to the Georgia State Parks website. For ages 9 and up. 5. What: Family Bike Ride
When: Saturday, June 30, 8-9:30am
Where: Aztec Cycles, 901 Main Street in the city of Stone Mountain
Why go: Exercise and quality time with the family rolled into one. Note: Meet time is between 8am to 8:30am. 6. What: Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends Yard Sale
When: Saturday, June 30, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Why go: Donate some of your items to the sale (and clean out your garage in the process) or find a bargain, and help out AARF and its rescue efforts.
