DeKalb Libraries Sponsor Summer Reading for Adults

Why should the kids have all the fun?

Summer reading for adults takes place May 29-September 4 at Dekalb County Public Libraries.

Branches in the Stone Mountain-Redan area include Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg, Hairston Crossing and Redan-Trotti.

To participate, you will need to choose from a list of activities:

  1. Read a book, fiction or non-fiction. Write the book title and author in a box on the entry form. You may rate the book from 1-5, with 5 being the best. Choices with a rating of 5 may be used to create “Patron Picks” lists of recommended reading.
  2. Listen to an audiobook from the Library’s collection or use OverDrive to download a book through the Dekalb library webpage. Write in the title and artist/author in a box on the entry form. You may rate the book from 1-5, with 5 being the best.
  3. Join online at the library's blog, DCPLive, and participate in the Summer Friday feature called “ShareReads.” Here you can write about the books you’re reading and see what others are enjoying. Leave a comment with your first name and last initial. Note the date of your comment on your entry form.
  4. Participate in one of DeKalb County Public Library’s book discussion groups. Upcoming book discussions may be found online or in the  monthly Calendar of Events. Note the date of your visit on your entry form.

Visit the Dekalb County Public Library website for details on how to submit your paperwork electronically or in person.

Participants will be eligible for drawings for prizes like a tote bag filled with books, a mug and book light, and gift cards.
