On Sunday, Aug. 25 more than 4,000 people came out to the sixth annual Family Fun Day at the Bransby Outdoor YMCA at Rock Chapel in Lithonia.
DeKalb Interim CEO Lee May along with several non-profit organizations including Project A.R.M, Beverly Cunningham Outreach Program and Saving Our Children and Families (SOCAF), partnered together so that families can have a good time, collect school supplies, and have some summer fun.
“This year’s event was the best ever. Family Fun Day is another opportunity for DeKalb families to grow closer together and have fun”, said May.
Family Fun Day featured numerous appearances from youth performers. “Seeing so many talented kids come out and perform was awesome” said Chris Cornell, Project A.R.M. founder.
Families had the opportunity to participate in face painting, horseback riding, rock climbing, swimming, paddle boats, health and wellness screenings, vendors, and much more.
