Retired Football Star To Discuss Career

Clarence Scott, one of the greatest players to come out of Decatur, will talk about his collegiate and pro career Saturday at the Hairston Crossing Library in Stone Mountain.

Clarence Scott, one of Decatur's greatest football players, will talk about his college and pro football career from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Hairston Crossing Library , 4911 Redan Road in Stone Mountain.

Scott, 63, was part of the last class at Decatur's all-black Trinity High before the public schools integrated. Trinity High met in what is now called the Beacon Hill Center on West Trinity Place.

He was an All-American defensive back at Kansas State in 1970 and played from 1971 to 1983 with he Cleveland Browns. The Browns recently inducted Scott into the Brown Legends, an honorary group of former players for the team.

Scott now lives in Stone Mountain. Last year he was added to Decatur High's Wall of Fame.
