Are you ready for another round of picks?

at M.L. King (Hallford): We’ve written about this game since before midseason. What looked like a potential battle for the Region 2-AAAAA championship between two undefeated teams is exactly what it's become. Both are 9-0 and ranked in the top five in the state. The game also will be televised on Comcast Sports South (Comcast Channel 45) and showcase the best that DeKalb County football has to offer — Stephenson’s county-best rushing attack (Mike Davis leads with 1,589 yards) and M.L. King’s top-flight passing offense (QB Jonquel Dawson has nearly 8,000 career passing yards). The defenses, which both feature Division I prospects, will be the key.  How much can either slow down the opposition?  MLK won last year’s game 26-24 to claim the region crown. Adding to the excitement is another music video, produced by Stephenson students. This is going to be a fun one. Stephenson 30, M.L. King 28.

Marist at (Avondale): Outside of Tucker, Marist has not been challenged by Region 6-AAAAA opponents. The War Eagles (8-1) have the makings of another deep run in the playoffs. Redan (3-6) should be able to move the ball, but it’s hard to see the Raiders challenging Marist. Marist 42, Redan 17.

at Druid Hills (Adams): The Pirates of Stone Mountain may finish the season 8-2 and have a win over the Region 5-AAA Division B winner (Woodward Academy), but there’ll be no playoffs. The reward is a subregion cross-over game against Druid Hills (4-5), the fourth-place team from 5-AAA Division. We believe the Pirates aren’t so happy about the predicament. Stone Mountain 34, Druid Hills 21.
