Another build-a-playground-in-a-day project is coming to Stone Mountain, this time to the (D.A.T.E.) Elementary and Middle charter schools.

The playground build day is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the school, located at 1492 Kelton Dr.

The playground construction will involve more than 200 volunteers from Dr Pepper Snapple Group, QuikTrip, D.A.T.E. schools, organizers from KaBOOM! and local residents, according to a press release.

This isn't the first KaBOOM!-affiliated project in the area. Back in May, the non-profit "dedicated to saving play" and other partners along with hundreds of volunteers were involved in in unincorporated Stone Mountain.

This project is part of Let’s Play, a community partnership led by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, the press release states.

Through Let’s Play grants and projects last year, Dr Pepper Snapple Group and KaBOOM! built or improved 528 playgrounds.

According to the release, the D.A.T.E. schools don't have playground equipment. The schools have more than 650 children. The new playground incorporates elements from drawings done by children who participated in a Design Day in June.
