Stephenson Shuts Out Southwest DeKalb in Region 6-AAAAA Play (Photos)

The No. 4 ranked Stephenson Jaguars' defense held Southwest DeKalb to 92 yards of offense on the way to a 32-0 shutout in Region 6-AAAAA action at Hallford Stadium on Friday night; take a look at the photo gallery of the game's highlights.

The Stephenson Jaguar defense was so dominant in this past Friday's game at Hallford Stadium that the Southwest DeKalb Panthers were unable to cross midfield with their nine offensive drives, excluding their interception to get the ball in Jaguar territory. Southwest averaged finishing its drives at its own 23 yard line.

Stephenson’s defense overcame an interception in the second quarter by Southwest’s Justin Mincy which he returned to the Stephenson 41. Facing a fourth and five at the Stephenson 22 the Panthers went for a 37 yard field goal attempt, but a bad snap turned into an interception by Stephenson’s Rashad Payne and the Panthers would never threaten to score the rest of the way.

The Jaguar offense meanwhile was piling up 294 yards of offense including 120 through the air and two touchdown passes by Justin Holman. Holman connected for 45 yards to Taylor Henry and eight yards to Raylen Elzy. Stephenson scored on the opening drive of the game as Austin Tevin scored from eight yards out on a fourth and two from the Panther eight yard line as Stephenson took the 7-0 lead and never looked back.
