A ribbon cutting ceremony is being conducted to inaugurate the opening of a new building addition at Martin Luther King Jr. High School. The existing school was built in 2001.
A press release for the DeKalb County School District stated, "due to increasing enrollment, SPLOST (Special Local Options Sales Tax) voters decided it was time to add onto the facility and eliminate temporary classrooms that housed ninth grades for several years with a new modern, energy efficient building addition to serve the students of the community for several years to come."
The ceremony takes place Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m., at 3991 Snapfinger Road in Lithonia.
