DeKalb Property Tax Process:

These and other aspects of the Tax Assessment Process will be presented by DeKalb constitutional officers, department heads and respective staff managers at the PRISM meeting on Thursday evening June 9 beginning at 7 PM. Meetings are held in the fellowship room of St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church located at 5365 Memorial Drive near the intersection of Rays Road.

With "Tax Assessment Notices" being received last week, the need and timing for this type of program offers a great opportunity for all property taxpayers to become better and more accurately informed of the process. The challenge will be to stay subject focused and not get bogged down in attempting to respond to individual situation questions. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the process, not on personal situations. Presenters, sitting as a panel, will field general questions at the end of the program. Individual questions will be addressed after the program adjourns at 9 PM

Confirmed presenters include Robert Burroughs and Calvin Hicks of the Tax Assessors office: Lydia Thomas, Board of Equalization coordinator; Claudia Lawson and Robert Goodman of the DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s office.
