DeKalb Schools Baseball: Dunwoody, Columbia Win in Best of DeKalb

Stephenson Jaguars are 8-1.

The 2012 Best of DeKalb showdown featured a pair of exciting contests
March 10 at Columbia. Coach Chan English’s Dunwoody Wildcats trailed
Arabia Mountain 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning before
erupting for eight runs on the way to posting a 10-1 triumph in the first
game.

Host Steve Dennis and the Columbia Eagles (5-1-1), meanwhile, rallied for
two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to knock off Redan by a 3-2
count in the nightcap.

The Arabia Mountain triumph was one of three impressive decisions for the

Centennial (10-0) March 5 and Cherokee (15-5) March 10. Previously winless
Dunwoody improved to 3-4 overall.

Springs (7-1) March 7 and Cedar Shoals (4-3) March 9 in moving to 4-3-1
for the year.

overall with three strong victories over Newton County (5-4) March 6,
Southwest DeKalb (10-9) March 7 and Martin Luther King Jr. (14-4) March 9.
