Stone Mountain City Council: Voters to Decide on Sunday Alcohol Sales in November

A few items tabled until June 21 work session.

The Stone Mountain City Council at its Tuesday meeting moved to put the question of Sunday alcohol sales on the November ballot, table two pieces of business until its June 26 work session, and approved the rezoning of two properties, among other business.

Resolution 2011-12 -- "to permit and regulate package sales by retailers of malt beverages, wine and distilled spirits on Sunday between 12:30 pm and 12 midnight" -- will be up to voters to decide in the fall.

The council tabled a facility use agreement between the city of Stone Mountain and the Caribbean Soccer League's use of Medlock Park, and the selection of design consultant Lord Aeck & Sargent for depot renovation until its work session later this month.
