Stone Mountain City Council Approves $1.68 Million Contract for City Hall Construction

The council approved a contract with Headley Construction Corp. for the construction of a new city hall.

Stone Mountain city council voted in favor of a $1.68 million contract with Headley Construction Corp. to build a new city hall at a called meeting Tuesday evening.

The police department and the municipal court will also move to the new building on Main Street once it's finished. The new city hall will be much larger and more functional than the historic train depot that now houses the three.

The visitor's center will move to the train depot, and the old courtroom will be made into a museum.

Also at Tuesday night's meeting, the council approved a propsal for the upgrade of the Second Street storm drain system for $94,331.
