Public Meeting Tonight on I-20 East Transit

The public can voice its thoughts on the I-20 East Transit Initiative at one of the last public meetings this week, including one tonight at the Lou Walker Senior Center, 2548 Panola Rd. in Lithonia.

The meeting begins with an open house from 6-7 p.m., followed by a presentaton and question-and-answer session from 7-8 p.m.

Through a study and public input, MARTA is looking at six possible transit improvements that would help the area within the I-20 East corridor, which stretches from downtown Atlanta to the Mall at Stonecrest.

The public can attend one of the following public meetings or visit an informational kiosk at the meeting dates below. These meetings are the last chance to speak up on which alternative you feel would be best.

Thursday, Oct. 6: Trees Atlanta, 225 Chester Ave., Atlanta. 6-7 p.m., Open House; 7-8 p.m., Presentation and Q & A.

Saturday, Oct. 8: The Gallery at
South DeKalb Center Court, 2801 Candler Rd., Decatur, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (staffed kiosk event).
