Main Street Stone Mountain to Present Checks to Schools

Check presentation from Granite Grasshopper 5k fundraiser tonight at Stone Mountain City Council meeting.

Angelique L. Smith-Hunt and Angela Hairston, principals of and Stone Mountain Elementary, respectively, will be presented proceed checks for their schools from the fundraiser at tonight's Stone Mountain City Council meeting.

Kim Delaney, director of Main Street Stone Mountain, will present the checks - $1,450 to each school.

The first annual Granite Grasshopper 5k Road Race & Fun Run on October 8 was Main Street Stone Mountain's way of helping in the fight against childhood obesity.

New business on the consent agenda include:

  • Long Term Facility Use Agreement – Georgia Falcons Pro Football and the City of Stone Mountain – Use of Medlock Park for Football – Rental Amount $2,400

  • Resolution 2011-19 - Adoption of the Five Year Short Term Work Program for Fiscal Years 2012-2017;

       (1st Reading – October 18, 2011)  (2nd Reading – November 1, 2011);
