Hidden Hills Overlay District Approaching Final Phase

Community Council meets Oct. 24 at Redan-Trotti Library; the proposal's last stop is the Board of Commissioners.

It's been in the works for four years, and now the end is in sight: approval of the Greater Hidden Hills Overlay District is its final phase.Β

The overlay zoning code is on the agenda for the Community Council's meeting at Redan-Trotti Library, 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 24, according to information from Jan Costello, coordinator of the Greater Hidden Hills Overlay Committee.

The Hidden Hills Overlay District effort started in 2007. If approved, it will set standards for new commercial development in the area, preserve the green space on the closed Hidden Hills golf course, and improve transit for vehicles, pedestrians and people on bikes.

The proposal moves on to the Planning Commission before heading to its last stop, the Board of Commissioners.

Both the Community Council and the Planning Commission will vote on whether or not to recommend approval of the overlay district. The commissioners have the final say.
