DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis will announce Georgia’s first accessible-only absentee poll Thursday at 1:30 p.m., according to a release from his office.
Ellis will make the announcement at the main location of the DeKalb County Board of Registration & Elections, 4380 Memorial Drive in Decatur.
The CEO's office said the announcement about the accessible-only poll happens along with the launch of ONE DeKalb Vote, which is a non-partisan effort intended to increase the number of registered voters and voter awareness.
The accessible-only absentee poll opens for business Monday, Feb. 13 when early voting begins.
The early voting poll for the March 6 Presidential Preference Primary and Special Election is designed to accommodate the special needs of voters with disabilities and senior citizens, the announcement said.
